Q: CAN I STRAIGHTEN OR CURL THESE WIGS WITH CURLING IRONS, ETC.?
Wig Styling
A:
Yes! This hair is 100% human hair and reacts to styling just like your own natural hair. Curly/wavy textures curl up when wet, but they can easily be flat ironed for a straight look.
Q: HOW LONG WILL MY WIG LAST?
Wig Life Span
A:
Each customer is different so it is impossible to foresee how long each unit will last. The unit will last longest when professionally maintained and when proper care is given to the hair and the unit. Units can last 8-12 months with regular wear (everyday use) and longer for occasional wearers. It's not uncommon for a unit to last for years depending on the upkeep and usage.
It is recommended for people who rely on hair replacement units to buy in multiples of 2, to insure you have a back up unit at all times and we offer a discount if you do so. Rotating two units at once will also allow you time to switch between the two with out having to rush to clean and maintain the one you are currently wearing. Buying 2 or more wigs at once also lengthens the lifespan of your units.
Q: WHAT IS REMY HAIR?
Remy Hair
A:
Human hair collected directly from a hair donor is Remy Hair. It is the highest quality human hair on the market today. It is sometimes referred to as Cuticle Hair, Virgin Hair and Cut Hair. The majority of human hair sold in the beauty industry is inferior, non-cuticle hair. The cuticle of the hair sold in most beauty supply stores has been stripped by dipping it in an acid-bath. With Remy hair we do not do this so the hair cuticle stays intact, therefore the hair is stronger, softer and does not matt or tangle.
Q: WHAT IS A LACE FRONT?
Lace Front
A:
A hairpiece or toupee which is made with a mesh insert in the front, which individual hairs are hand-tied. This is designed to create a realistic looking hairline. The lace front usually has extra unventilated mesh so that the front can be custom-ventilated or trimmed to resemble an actual hairline. When properly worn with special adhesive, the hairline can be so realistic looking, it is virtually undetectable that it is not the wearer's own growing hair.
Q: HOW DO I STORE MY WIG?
Wig Storage
A:
Keep your wig on a wire wig stand when you are not wearing it. This will air out your wig nicely and not stretch out the cap. It's also a great tool on which to air dry your wig after it's been washed. Only keep the wig on a Styrofoam head or head block long enough to style it. You can place your wig on a mannequin head -- just don't pull the wig all the way down on the head. After you finish styling, just lift up the wig so that it's gently resting on the head.
Q: WHAT IS VENTILATION?
Ventilation
A:
The technique used in tying or knotting hair by hand into the cap of a wig or toupee to simulate the look of growing hair. A fully hand tied wig requires over 110 hours of skilled labor to complete, which explains the cost of this type of wig.
Q: WHAT IS ATTACHMENT/INSTALLATION?
Wig Attachment
A:
Attachment or installation refers to how the hair system is attached to your scalp or balding area. The two most commonly used attachment methods are double sided tapes and liquid adhesives. Which product to use is just a matter of preference. In most cases, customers can use either tapes, adhesives or even a combination of both depending on the customer's lifestyles and the type of wig base. If someone is very active and constantly engages in sports or lives in extreme climatic conditions (wind, rain, strong sun, etc.) then it is important to choose an attachment that offers the maximum hold. On the other hand, if someone is more concerned about breath ability of the scalp and being able to cleanse the scalp on a regular basis, then it is important to choose an attachment method that allows easy clean up and maintenance. Tapes are double sided. They are sticky on both sides and they have a backing that must be peeled off and are generally suited for daily or short term use where the customer can remove the hair system and the tapes at night and reattach the next day. This allows for daily clean up of the scalp and the hair system. Liquid adhesives are generally more suitable for extended wearing for over a couple of days or even longer.
Q: I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERE HAIR LOSS DUE TO ILLNESS/CHEMICAL DAMAGE. IS THIS RIGHT FOR ME?
Hair Loss
A:
Absolutely! We highly recommend this for anyone with any kind of hair loss or undergoing Chemotherapy.
Q: WILL MY WIG COME ALREADY CUT AND STYLED?
Wig Styling
A:
No. The best way to cut your system is while it is on your head. You will need to have your personal hairstylist cut and style it for you. Most curly/wavy textures will curl up when wet and allowed to air dry but can easily be flat ironed for a straight look.
Q: CAN I SWIM OR GO TO THE GYM AND SWEAT WHILE WEARING THIS WIG?
Active Lifestyles
A:
Yes you can do your usual activities with this wig on. The lace wigs have a breathable cap, which makes them much more comfortable to wear than traditional hard wigs. Only avoid swimming or sweating for 24 hours after applying adhesives and tapes. Other than that, no one will ever know it's not growing from your scalp! Also make you have a waterproof adhesive such as Endura-bond. Not all adhesives and glues are waterproof, so whether or not your unit becomes loose after getting wet, depends on the type of adhesive you use. If it is, then not even when its wet, will anyone be able to detect that you are wearing a wig!

A:

Q: DO YOU HAVE A CATALOGUE OR BROCHURE YOU COULD SEND ME?
Catalogues and Brochures
A:
We do not have a catalogue because our wigs are custom made, one-of-a-kind works of art. They are not mass produced, machine made, store bought wigs, so no two are exactly alike. You create and design the wig yourself, so the picture is created in your mind's eye. You may browse our webpages to see examples of other wigs we've created. Or you may submit a clear picture of your favorite hairstyle for us to recreate on your wig. We look forward to working hand in hand with you to create the masterpiece of your dreams!
Q: HOW DO I SEAL MY KNOTS?
Sealing Knots
A:
Sealing your wig’s knots will help decrease shedding. The can of sealer you need is called "General Purpose Adhesive Spray" You can find it at any Fabric/Arts &Crafts/Office Supply Store in your area. A popular maker of this product is 3M.You will need a wig head, sealer and your lace unit. Turn the unit inside out. Then place the cap inside out on wig head. Spray unit lightly with sealer standing 6 to 8 inches away. DO NOT SPRAY SEALER ON HAIR. You should not be able to see the spray on your unit. If you do, you've used too much. The last step is the unit must dry for 15 to 30 minutes. If you remove it before then, it may shrink the cap. You can seal your knots after each time you shampoo and condition your unit.
Q: HOW CAN I DE-TANGLE MY UNIT?
De-tangling
A:
Even the best units on earth like ours, can become tangled if they are not given the proper care. If your unit gets old or becomes tangled or puffy, you can make it look like new again with a bleach bath. The bleach acts as a clarifier and the ammonia acts as a softener to bring your unit’s hair back to life. Use the chemicals on the hair, not on the lace cap and follow the directions exactly. This treatment can be done as often as needed at your discretion.
Totally de-tangle the unit first. Just dip in the hair, not the lace cap.
1. Mix one gallon of very hot water (hottest available from the tap) with 1/4 cup of Clorox bleach. (Do not use old Clorox or a generic brand, it will not work.)
2. Totally submerge the human hair into the water for approximately 2 or 3 minutes. (Do not leave longer than 3 minutes) Comb or brush very gently when submerged.
3. Remove hair and submerge in a basin of lukewarm water that has been pre-mixed with shampoo. Gently lift in and out for about 3 minutes and also brush or comb the hair very gently when submerged. Remove and blot dry
4. Mix 1/4 cup of ammonia to 3 cups of warm water. Dip hair in and out twice.
5. Repeat step 3
6.Apply conditioner, rinse and style.
Your wig will look brand new and be tangle free

Q: HOW DO I DEEP CONDITION MY UNIT?
Deep Conditioning
A:
Following the bleach bath or anytime, you can saturate the wet unit with a good deep conditioner, place in a large plastic ziploc bag, microwave for 30 seconds and then put back in again for another 15 seconds and rinse to soften the hair.
Q: HOW DO I REPAIR TEARS/HOLES IN MY LACE CAP?
Cap repair
A:
You can repair holes or tears in your cap by sewing the cap back together with "Transparent Nylon Thread" or "Sequin Thread" sold at your local fabric store. Save the excess lace you originally cut from your unit incase you need to patch or reinforce a hole/tear in your cap using the thread.

Q: CAN I WEAR THIS WIG IF I STILL HAVE ALL OF MY NATURAL HAIR?
